Nope Lina definitely came across as a doormat & weak. Phil was revolting his show of remorse was not nearly enough. He was definitely not redeemed. I disagree it doesn't take strength to stay with an adulterer, it takes strength & self worth to leave someone so unworthy. I despised Phil from start to finish he did nothing of any consequence at all to show he was worthy of Lina. He CONSTANTLY cheated for Months! Where was his loyalty to his wife of 25 years. And also, the special place he took that tramp to, why did he take her there & why was he the main pursuer? And the fact that everyone enabled him around them was pathetic, I know my mum would never wish for me to stay with such an immoral weak man who betrayed his wife and children for what!
There seems to be no middle ground on the opinion about this book or characters. There is no loyalty in an affair -- there is no getting around that and there wouldn't have been a book if he hadn't cheated. Like I said, I wanted to write a story where the couple survived.
Laura I loved the book and I can’t decide who my favorite alpha is Phil or Tony..anyway life happens and it takes two strong people to overcome a betrayal..I love that Phil and Lina did because then we got “swimming naked” keep writing you’re fabulous 👍🏻☺️
Uh..it’s a book, it’s fiction..if there’s nothing to be said then why do u keep commenting..I was writing to laura, the author not you.. the author chose a topic she felt strongly about and wrote a poignant love story..There are many marriages that do fail because of adultery the ones that survive and rare. Keep writing Laura 😘
You are the one trolling me. This was my question which the author was responding to. This is MY question thread with the author. You want a conversation with the author that's your business but don't go butting into someone else's and then have the nerve to tell me to stop commenting, on my own thread. I certainly hope you are not a "friend" of the author who is trying to troll me
This is a public blog..I wrote an encouraging note to the author and u chose to insert a negative opinion..go back and see who did what first, you obviously cannot handle a book like this so in the future you might want to read the reviews before you buy...venomous angry comments don’t help. As far as my being a friend of the author, no not personally but I wish I was I love the way she thinks, forgiveness frees the person doing the forgiving and Lina obviously recognizes she loves her husband and family more than the betrayal 🤷🏻♀️
Hmmm, Liza you are trolling me again. Katie, I can certainly challenge something I bought and read and I can also question the feedback. It is certainly NOT an bash of any kind, unless strongly disagreeing with something is what you deem to be a bash. Really? I did not expect to start getting trolled but I guess I should've expected it. Let's see if any other "friends" jump on the bang wagon and start targeting me. I suggest we now close my thread since I assume we are all grown ups here.
Katie you can stop grilling me. I think my question is self explanatory I didn't realise I had to run by you or someone else if I wanted to discuss the book with the author. Only the original question plus my response to that initial feedback was to the author. That is not harrassment Katie, it's called debating and discussion, I was interested in understanding the author's viewpoint, but I see here discussion and challenge are being relabelled as "bashing". The rest of this thread is you two coming after me and me responding. So the anger is not on my part. I now STRONGLY suggest we leave it at that. I don't know you so I wish you nothing but happy reading.
