So it was a miscommunication, because Tufo did say skeletal. And I always thought Erik had a lot of muscle because of his training but just had a slim build, kinda like spider-man in the Rami movies.
Remember, Mike is viewing Eric while Eric is wearing his custom-built Diogenes armor. Mike doesn't know how thick it is or what kind of padding is under it. If he goes off what he knows, he'll see a man in bulky armor with almost no room for a person inside it! Therefore: skeletal. He doesn't know it's made of materials you might find in Star Trek.
And you're right in that Eric has muscles. He's low on body fat and wiry.
