Faranae I've been saying it wrong for forever. To be fair, I'm a native Francophone, so it was just natural to read it as "fwah" (which is also how the variant "foy" is pronounced.)

Terngirl Oh, me too! I pronounce it as 'fwah' as I grew up hearing Quebecois!

Laer Carroll Foreign words coming into another language get wrung into a new form. It's almost a miracle that even one syllable comes through intact!

Jonathan Palfrey Foix is pronouned Fosh in Catalan; it's the name of a minor river and artificial lake, between Barcelona and Tarragona.
