Thanks! I was asking because I tend to stay away from reading a series until they're finished, or at least one arc is finished. I've started too many series where I had to wait a while, and I just end up forgetting the little fun bits that make the subsequent books more enjoyable. Will definitely give your series a go around Summer then (will be Winter reading for me here in NZ)! :)

I've read all your books in the series and am patiently waiting for #4. One question though. How is Kael pronounced? I've been pronouncing it "Kay-elle" (which I know the way I SPELLED it, looks feminine, but I like that version of the name) or is it pronounced more like Kale?

Hey Lori-- glad to hear you've been enjoying the series!

I think the pronunciation of "Kael" is just your classic potato, patato situation. I'm a Texan, which means I have a tendency to "grunt" my words (and avoid extra syllables). The pronunciation "Kale" feels more natural to me. But I have been "Kay-elle"ing for the last couple of minutes and think it sounds pretty good. So if you'd rather "Kay-elle" than "Kale," go for it. I give you an authorial pass ;)

I'm southern too, born and raised in Arkansas, but when reading this genre (my favorite one) I try to pronounce things like I would imagine they would in this particular age. So, thank you. With your permission, he will forever be "Kay-elle" to me!! :)

I miss the south, and pecan pies :( Grew up in Alabama, now living by the hobbits. Sigh.

Sorry-- I know that pecan pie is nothing to joke about, but I just cracked up at that image! The premise reminds me of Twain's "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court."

Except the title of yours would have to be "The Alabamian of Middle Earth." :D

Hey Lorenzo! I'm thrilled to hear that you've been enjoying the Fate's Forsaken series thus far and am very excited about sharing Book 4 with y'all!

Okay, book recs ... I'm really bad at those because I am not "well-read." Growing up, there were only five authors I read cover to cover: Lloyd Alexander, Brian Jacques, Tamora Pierce, Garth Nix, and Phillip Pullman. Most of those are for younger readers, though Pullman's "His Dark Materials" and Nix's "Abhorsen" trilogy stand the test of time. Misc fantasy authors I've read recently and enjoyed are Kristin Cashore and Peter Fugazzatto.

If you like historical fiction, Judson Roberts' "Strongbow Saga" is fantastic-- and all about Vikings. What's not to like?
