Zip ties are cool too.
There's a great trick that the riggers use at Pinewood Studios using Duct Tape on expensive producer's cars. If you take a small thread from a roll and pull it till it makes a ten to twelve inch strand. Then you apply the strand to a car panel on producer's top drawer Ferrari. It makes such a convincing scratch it makes for a brilliant practical joke as it really looks like the car has been maliciously keyed. Not much use on Mars but hey....
