Frances Schoonmaker Thanks for the reply. I hadn’t really followed the issue before reading the book. A good example of how art can open our eyes.

Donna Indeed, it can and does, Frances! Chris’s writing of THE SANDCASTLE GIRLS was the story of many of my relatives and moved those of us who read this glorious book to tears. For anyone who is in denial of what took place during the Armenian Genocide, they need only read this book to grasp the truth.

Lexine Your work on the Armenian Genocide is very important. I have been a high school history teacher for many (many) years, and only became familiar with this event through your writing. Now my students know about it, too. Thank you very much.

Mitchell I was in the Capitol when you spoke along with the Armenian ambassador.
