Mona ha! Manny Twain?

message 2: by Reborn (new)

Reborn Ugh! I grew up in Elmira, NY, and it ruined Twain for me. Too much of a good thing is not always a good thing!

Lilo You did internalize.

message 4: by Lilo (new)

Lilo @ Renee: I could never get enough of Mark Twain.

Mona Lilo---me too :) Puddin Head Wilson and a Connecticut Yankee and all that good stuff...

Lilo I read, of course (and more than once), Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. (I also saw the TV series, which I found a bit disappointing.) And I read a thick book with collected works of Mark Twain. Loved every word of it. "Puddin Head Wilson" was also contained in this book, but I must admit that I completely forgot the story.

Reborn Lilo, you could if you grew up in a teeny-tiny town where he wrote several of his most famous novels and where he is buried and it's the only thing they have to brag about so from pretty much birth, all you hear about is Mark Twain. And everything is named after him. Then I went to college in Buffalo (where he also spent quite a bit of time) and majored in English so almost all my classes were in a building named after him. It's like he follows me. lol

Mona Lilo, I've forgotten the story of "Puddin Head Wilson" too, I read it so long ago. I just remember that I loved it, and it was great fun. Like the title too.

Lilo Renee, under these circumstances, I forgive you. :-)

message 10: by Lilo (new)

Lilo Mona, I'm glad I'm not the only one to forget contents of books.

message 11: by Mona (new)

Mona Lol, Lilo...let's just say I read it when I was a kid, and that was long time ago...Normally I have a good memory, but...I read a lot of books :)

Lilo It is peculiar. I clearly remember the contents of some books I read long ago, and not at all the contents of others. And this has little to do with the quality of the contents of the books. Same with movies.

Manny I swear I wasn't! I know it looks highly suspicious.
