1002464 I enjoyed this book, I gave it 4 stars as I felt connected to it in so many different ways. I like how it's written too, it's very personal and doesn't hold back on raw emotions.
This book really showed the gross way in which Hollywood exploits children. To take a peak behind the scenes was difficult to read at times but that's the point isn't it, that it was difficult for Jenette and many other children growing up in Hollywood.
One part that really stuck with me is how Jeanette's mother could introduce her daughter to an eating disorder as such a fun and delightful experience. I know Debra McCurdy was battling her own problems mentally and at times physically but she knew what she was doing was wrong, she showed this by lying to the doctor about her involvement in Jenette's strict eating regime, I can't comprehend how she could push calorie restricting onto her little girl, but that was only one way she abused her daughter. It just broke my heart, I hope Jeanette McCurdy is healing.
Some people may enjoy this book but it comes with many trigger warnings. I couldn't put this book down and I would like to hear more from Jenette in the future, I feel like I've really got to know her and would like to know she's doing well.

1002464 Happy New Year!
This month we have been reading 'I'm Glad My Mom Died' by Jeanette McCurdy.
- What are your thoughts on this book?
- How did this book make you feel about hollywoods outlook on children or Jeanette's thoughts on them?
- There were many disturbing parts to this book and indeed to Jeanette McCurdys life, what do you think about the readers sitting down to judge her mother and her mothers actions?
- Would you recommend this book?

1002464 Oh waw I absolutely loved this book! It reminded me of the crucible by Arthur killer mixed with the Netflix series Sabrina. It was so easy to read, it felt like a fairy tale I had already read somehow.
The perfect time of year for a witchy magical book. I'm a sucker for a happy ending.
I liked the character development of Agatha, the story was fast paced and I read it really quickly.
I gave this book 4 stars, I don't think it's something I will reread but I did enjoy it very much.
What did you think?
Have you read any other books written by Brom?

1002464 I did not finish this book, I just couldn't get along with the characters or the plot. I just didn't care at all about the situation and this book sent me into a book slump. I don't often read gossipy/romance books but this has been recommended everywhere. I had to DNF life's too short to read books that don't interest me. Onwards and Upwards.

1002464 I enjoyed this book, YA is a genre I don’t often reach for and yet I always thoroughly enjoy. I would give it a good 4/5 stars, however i felt a bit disappointed when death would tell the reader what would happen in the future, maybe I just like mystery but it annoyed me a few times. I’m not sure if I would read this again but if I do, it won’t be any time soon. I did like Death’s narration, they often had witty and whimsical things to say. He only staid a few sentences at a time but they packed a punch.
“I'm haunted by humans“

Who do you think Liesel grows old with in Sydney? Do you see it potentially being Max or a stranger? There would be a 10 years age gap but sometimes in life that can happen.

I just don’t see it being Max myself but i wonder why we didn’t find out more about Max’s life.

1002464 So how did you get on with May’s pick for time travel?
- What did you think about the different lives we see in the cafe?
- This book is set all one location did you enjoy that element?

1002464 I am super excited to read this book, I was really hoping this would win the poll for May. Do you read many time travel books? All the books in the poll I haven’t read so definitely will be adding them to my TBR list.
Happy Reading!

1002464 Hello! This month we are going to be reading Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh. Irvine Welsh writes in Scottish slang and his writing has been described as ‘a brutal depiction of Edinburgh life.’
Have you read any of his work previously?
Goodreads labels this book as (Mark Renton #2) however this is the first book in the series, which now has a prequel too.

1002464 This book blew my socks off, what a surprising read. I found Delia Owens words extremely emotive and captivating. Many times reading this I stopped to admire a few sentences, she created such beautiful descriptions and heartbreaking imagery.

I’m not sure where to being with this plot, I was slightly dreading it would be a ‘man cheats on wife and secret mistress murders him’ vibe but it was far from a typical boring story.

1002464 What did you think f this months book club pick?
1002464 This book was not at all what I was expecting. I was expecting a little more about acting, Harry Potter and veganism. Even though this book was mostly about Evanna’s eating disorder I found it interesting and insightful. I also loved her style of writing, what a fantastic writer.

This isn’t a genre I usually reach for and I wouldn’t reread this book. I did enjoy it and possibly would recommend this to someone but I do not think everyone would enjoy this book.

It was soothing to read Evanna Lynch’s breakthroughs in life, life can be rubbish sometimes but it can be beautiful too. Be kind to yourself, to others and to the world. Don’t take anything for granted and be present.
