1085301 Hi Everyone,

April is our 4 year anniversary!
Firstly, thank you so much for all the support you've given in the last 4 years I've been giving these 7 on Sunday topics!

I've had so much fun with this project and I'm still love getting to do this. I'm honestly so grateful to know that community members have enjoyed participating as well.

This all being said, this was not something I anticipated announcing (not even when I posted the March topics initially). I knew that eventually 7 on Sunday would need to go on a break, but I never knew when it would happen... until this week.

I've been pretty vague on my channel about my mental health and what's been going on in my personal life. It's been really stressful and I'm quite surprised I was still able to manage posting twice a week and coming up with 7OS topics even with so much going on. I've unfortunately reached the point where I'm struggling to be emotionally attached to a lot of what I read because of how these circumstances have taken a toll on me and that will affect my desire to recommend books consistently and come up with new weekly topics to discuss until that improves.

I've decided for the best that I will no longer be pushing myself the way I have been over these months and that I will need to slow down for my own wellbeing.

And I know for some of you this will be unfortunate, but I am planning to take a break from 7 on Sunday and posting topics.

Just to confirm - this is not me saying that I no longer love running 7OS or that I no longer have a passion for it, this is just me saying that I will temporarily put it on hold because I've been unwell and I need to get better. (But hey, a 4 year run of doing this with no breaks is something I will always be so proud of!)

You might ask how long of a break?
To that I would say I will ideally like to take just a month off, but I cannot make any promises due to life being really unpredictable. This might not be a secret to some, but I personally REALLY love mid-year, end of year and beginning of year topics the most so at this point I'm willing to make sure the break will most likely be somewhere between 1-3 months.

My mid-year July topics I hope will be enough for me to get me back into full gear, but while considering May and June, I'm going to take life day by day and pay attention to my mental health before making a decision to post topics and posting twice a week during for those months.

I do apologise to those who were looking forward to the next lot of topics and I'm thankful for your support. Please be assured that I love getting to do this, the 4 years doing this has really gone by quickly because it's never felt like a burden to run this project.

This isn't goodbye, it's a recovery break.
I plan to be back and I hope that this break will result in 7 on Sunday growing stronger than ever.

A big thanks for a great 4 years and I hope you take some time to also enjoy this break and feel refreshed when we return.

1085301 Hi Everyone,

Here are the 7 on Sunday topics for the month of March:

3rd - 5 Star Predictions

This is a topic we do yearly here, what are the books that you currently have 5 star predictions for?

10th - Low Star Predictions

This topic was inspired by a video about low star predictions that I posted years ago and I thought it would be great to bring to 7OS, what books do you assume you'll give a low star rating? This is not a topic about books we don't like, it's for the books on our TBR (and hopefully by the time we read the books we'll be pleasantly surprised!)

17th - Books You Can't Stop Thinking About

What books are your roman empire?

24th - Most Read Authors

This is a topic we did around 2-3 years ago here (but since then we may have read many more books?) who are your currently most read authors of all time?

and finally

31st - Books That Beat Your Reading Slumps

Self-explanatory :)

Hope you enjoy participating in these topics and have a great month!

Cheers,

1085301 Hi Everyone!

Hope you had a great time with the beginning of year topics in January! In the month of February I've included another beginning of year planning topic as well as some topics to do with romance books in honour of Valentine's month!

Here are the topics for the month:

4th - Books to Reread in 2024

Are there any books that you plan to reread to either prepare for a sequel or just for fun this year?

11th - Romance Books and/or Companion Series on the top of the TBR

What romance books or series are at the top of your TBR? I'm personally going to reserve this topic for a bunch of contemporary romance companion series on my TBR but you can switch it up in any way you'd would like to!

18th - Romantasy Recommendations OR Romantasy TBR

and finally

25th - Dark/Taboo Romance/Romantic Suspense Recommendations OR Dark/Taboo Romance/Romantic Suspense TBR

These last two topics are also topics that can be customised. I know that some of us want to read more of these categories and some of us want to scream at the top of our lungs about books we love within these categories! You can either choose to recommend books, talk about what's on your TBR or switch it up for each of them!

I'm so excited to get to these topics and I hope you are as well!

I hope you have an amazing February, and I'll be back in a month with new topics!

Cheers,
G-Swizz

1085301 HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!

Hope you had a great holiday period, here are some beginning of year topics to get our 2024 started!

7th - Reading and Bookish Goals of 2024

Do you have any reading/TBR/book related goals you'd like to accomplish this year?

14th - Most Anticipated Releases of 2024

What books are you currently anticipating the most for this year? P.s. if you cannot fit all anticipated releases into this weekly topic, there will most likely also be a Most Anticipated Releases for the 2nd half of 2024 topic in July as well.

21st - Books/Series You Want to Read in 2024

I personally post a yearly series TBR video every year and this is the weekly topic I will use to do so. If you're not a series reader, you can also discuss any standalone or companion books at the top of your TBR in 2024.

and finally

28th - Graphic Novels/Comics/Manga You Want to Read in 2024

These could be webtoons, comic strips, manga, manhwa, graphic novels, graphic memoirs, etc. What illustrated books/series would you like to read in 2024?

Hope you enjoy participating in these topics and have the best start to 2024!

Cheers,

1085301 Hi All,

Hope you had a fun time with the September topics! Please see below for October topics (inspired by Halloween). The topics will start off light and will get darker as the month progresses:

1st - Cozy Paranormal Book Recommendations

Whether these are cozy paranormal romances or general paranormal books that are less spooky and more on the cozy side, all cozy paranormal recommendations are welcome!

8th - Cozy Paranormal TBR

Follow up to the recommendations topic, what cozy paranormal books would you like to read next?

15th - Paranormal or Monster Book Recommendations

These don't have to be outright horror, rather anything that falls under paranormal or monster book subgenres including romance. You can just do paranormal books, you can just do monster books, the choice is yours!

22nd - Paranormal or Monster Book TBR

Follow up from the previous week, as mentioned - You can just do paranormal books, you can just do monster books, the choice is yours!

and finally

29th (my birthday, hehe) - Spooky and Creepy Reads

These books can be outright horror, these can be books that scared you personally, books that gave you the creeps, books you think will give someone else the creeps, etc. Any book you'd define as spooky or creepy that you recommend is welcome.

Hope you enjoy participating in these halloween inspired topics and have a great October!

Cheers,

1085301 Hi Everyone!

As August is coming to an end, it's time for some new topics!
Here are the topics for September:

3rd - Most Intimidating Books on your TBR

What are the books you own or want to buy/read that are the most intimidating to read and why?

10th - Short Book Recommendations (Under 300 page books)

We did the "Shortest Books on your TBR" topic a few months ago, but are there any short books you'd recommend either for readathons, challenges or simply because they're great reads?

17th - Retellings/Reimaginings You'd Like to Read

This was a 7OS topic a few years ago but it's a great one to revisit as there are still so many great reimaginings coming out and our TBRs are most likely ever-changing!

and finally:

24th - Binge-able Book/Series Recommendations

Have you binge-read a book or series that you would recommend someone else binge-read? Or have you ever read a book or series that you wish you binge-read and would recommend everyone else to do so? This weeks topic is for those recs you might have for binge-reading specifically.

Hope you all enjoy doing this lot of topics and have a great month!

Cheers,
G-Swizz

1085301 Hi Everyone!

Hope you had a great time participating in the mid-year topics if you did!
Here are the August topics if you're looking to participate!

6th - Books You'll Never Read Again

Some of us like to re-visit books, whether it be for fun or giving a book a second chance. However there are also books we'd never like to re-visit, what books do you refuse to reread?

13th - Books You've Been Waiting Forever For!

These could be sequels or projects authors have mentioned or announced previously, but they haven't been published yet or they've been delayed.

20th - The Hardest/Heaviest Books You've Ever Read

We can have our wholesome reading moments and we can have our really deep and thought-provoking reading moments, but what books did you find mentally or emotionally difficult to get through and why?

and finally:

27th - The Longest Book Series on your TBR

This one is self-explanatory. Your longest could be a bunch of trilogies or even longer! This is entirely based on the length of the book series you'd like to read!

I hope you all have a great month and enjoy doing the topics!

Cheers,
G-Swizz

1085301 Hi Everyone!

Hope you're all doing well.
We've officially reached the 2nd half of the year, which means it's time to review our reading for the year so far and get pumped for what's the come!

That being said, the first 3 monthly topics will be mid-year related.

Here are the July topics!:

2nd - The Best Books You've Read in the 1st Half of 2023

Self explanatory! What are your favourites so far?

9th - Most Anticipated Releases for the 2nd Half of 2023

What new releases are coming out between July - December that you're excited to read?

16th - Books/Series You'd Like to finish by End of Year

Again, self explanatory - what books/series do you have the goal of getting to by EOY?

23rd - Books You Don't Recommend Enough

Are there any books that you shamelessly love that you never take the time to recommend? What books do you LOVE AND ADORE that you don't talk about enough?

and finally

30th - The Books That Got You Into Reading

Let's take a trip down memory lane and talk about some books and/or series that we all read at the beginning of our reading journeys !

I hope you enjoy participating in this months topics and I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

I hope everyone has a great month!

Much Love,
G-Swizz

1085301 Hi Everyone!

Hope you've had a great May!
Here are the topics for the month of June:

4th - Favourite Ongoing Series

What non-completed book series do you consider to be your favourites at the moment?

11th - Books/Series That Should Have Been Longer

What books or series do you think were too short and could have been extended?

18th - Books/Series That Should Have Been Shorter

What books or series do you think went on for longer than they needed to?

and finally:

25th - Books You Read Because of Booktube

We've done a "Booktok Made Me Buy It" and "Booktok Made Me Read It" topic recently, but as some participants of 7 on Sunday are on Booktube, I thought it would be good to discuss what books we've picked up because we were influenced by Booktube.

I hope you enjoy this months topics and have a great June!!

Here are the topics for May!

We've done the longest books on our TBR piles a few times in the times of 7 on Sunday, but this week let's spotlight the shortest books we are yet to pick up!

14th - Hyped Authors You Haven't Read Yet
Who are the authors you've noticed everyone reading these days that you haven't read yet?

21st - Books on your ANTI-TBR
Are there books you haven't read that you refuse to add to your to be read pile?

28th - ANTI-Book Buzzwords
This topic was inspired by a conversation I had with a friend about books that I refuse to pick up based on certain buzzwords. What are the buzzwords that make you actively refuse to pick a book up?

1085301 Hi Everyone!

Hope you're all well and had fun with the March topics!

Here are the topics for April:

2nd - Books That Tricked You
This topic was inspired by April Fools. Whether it be books that surprised or catfished you, what are the books you were fooled by?

9th - Companion/Anthology Series TBR
We did Companion series recommendations sometime last year, but do you have any companion/anthology series you'd like to read? (Companion/Anthology Series, whichever term is preferred, is a series that consists of standalones that are set within the same world/setting but follow different characters with each book i.e. The Bromance Book Club Series or the Four Horsemen Series).

16th - Auto-Buy Authors
Do you have any authors you would automatically buy, regardless of what they write/what they plan on releasing?

23rd - Book Series You'll Never Continue
What book series have you started on that you've given up on for good?

30th - Books You'll Never Unhaul
Are there any books on your shelves that mean too much to you to ever get rid of?

I hope you all have fun with the topics and enjoy your April!

Many Thanks,
Grace

1085301 Hi Everyone!

I hope you had a great February!
As we are now transitioning into March, here are the next lot of monthly topics:

5th - Author Backlists You'd Like to Complete

Have you found any author you love but have never read/completed their backlist? This week we'll talk about those authors/the backlist books we'd like to read from them!

12th - Books That Didn't Hold Your Attention

We all have a few of those books that we either DNF or where they go over our heads. What books didn't hold your attention?

19th - Biggest Books on your TBR

It has been around 18 months since this was last a 7OS topic, and as our TBRs are either ever-growing or ever-shrinking, there's a high-chance the list has been updated over time. What are the largest books on your shelf that you haven't read yet?

and Finally

26th - Books You Keep Rereading

Are there any books that you keep returning to for one reason or another? This week we will spotlight these titles!

I hope you all have a lovely March and have fun with these topics!

Cheers,
G-Swizz

1085301 Hello Booklovers!

I hope you've all had a happy new year so far!

As we are entering the month of Valentine's Day, this month's topics will be romance-centric:

5th - Romance Books at the top of your TBR Pile

Pretty self explanatory, what romance books or books with romantic subplots would you like to prioritise reading sometime soon?

12th - Underhyped Romances

Are there any books about love that aren't getting enough love in your opinion?

19th - Morally Grey/Taboo/Dark Romance books on your TBR OR Morally Grey/Taboo/Dark Romance book recommendations

This is a relatively new area for me and for some, but others might be very well-versed in KU dark romance books and might want to use this time to recommend their favourites. I'm an amateur and have a Dark Romance TBR myself I'd like to share, if you do as well I hope you enjoy participating in this topic!

and Finally

26th - Overhyped Romances

IMO it's not a month of romance without at least one anti-romantic topic XD
Are there romance novels or books with romantic sub-plots out there that just didn't do it for you? This is the week where we spill!

Happy Valentine's Day to you all and I hope you have fun with this month's topics!

Much Love, G-Swizz

1085301 HELLO BOOKLOVERS!

I hope you're having a great holiday period!
Thank you for continuing to support 7 on Sunday, I honestly cannot believe I'm starting another year of topics - this is so exciting!

If you were with us last January, we are pretty much going to do the same topics as they work well in terms of planning for every year. If you need a recap on what they were, here they are!:

January 1st: 2023 Reading Goals

What goals do you have in terms of your 2023 reading life?

January 8th: Most Anticipated Releases of 2023

What 2023 release books are you looking forward to reading the most?

January 15th: Books/Series you would like to read in 2023

This is an overall TBR for the long term - I usually make this my series TBR for the year but completely up to you how you'd like to interpret it!

January 22nd: Graphic Novels/Comics/Manga You Want to Read in 2023

Are there any graphic novels, comic books or manga you would like to read this year? I usually make this my Manga TBR for the year, but once again completely up to you!

and finally

January 29th: Five Star Predictions

It's that time of year again! What books do you predict will be your new favourites?

I hope you have fun with these topics and I'm looking forward to seeing all your takes on them!

Have a happy new year!!!

Cheers,
Grace

1085301 Hello Everyone!

Hope you're well and had a great October!
As we are approaching the end of the year and some of us are planning what our holidays are going to look like, I'm providing the rest of 2022s topics in this post.

November:

6th - Long Book Series on your TBR (series that consist of 4 or more books)

This is a continuation of the October TBR topics. Instead of specifics, what are some book series on the longer side of things that you plan to get to eventually?

13th - Books That You Wish Read Sooner

Are there any books you put off one way or another, and then once you finally read it, you wished you read it sooner? I've been there a few times myself!

20th - Books on your Wishlist

This topic was inspired by Christmas, but it doesn't have to be Christmas related if you don't celebrate - what are some books that are currently on your Wishlist?

27th - New Authors You Read in 2022

Who are some authors you finally read in 2022?

December:

4th - Most Surprising Books You Read in 2022

What books surprised you this year?

11th - Favourite Book Characters of 2022

Did you discover new favourite characters in the books you read this year? This is the week to gush about them!

18th - Favourite Book Covers of 2022

These books will have needed to be published in 2022 to count, which ones are your favourite?

and Finally

25th - 2022 Releases that you haven't read yet

The ones that got away! What books were you planning to read but you weren't able to read or complete in 2022?

I hope you have a great rest of the year and looking forward to posting topics here again in 2023!

Cheers,
Grace

1085301 Hello Everyone!

It's a new month! We're already at October, Spooky season and Birthday month for me!

Here are the topics I've been really excited to share with you all!

October 2nd - Books You Want to Read by End of Year

At this time, a lot of content creators (including myself) participate in the End of Year Book Tag. I figured this topic would make a good companion to the tag for everyone whether anyone chooses to participate in it or not :)

These next few themes were inspired by our Standalone, Duology, Trilogy and longer series recommendations we presented earlier on this year. Except this time, they will be TBR/potential TBR related:

October 9th - Standalone Novels on Your TBR

October 16th - Duologies on Your TBR

October 23rd - Trilogies on Your TBR

and Finally, a halloween related topic to go with the Halloween weekend.

October 30th - Dark and Creepy Reads

This is a yearly topic and the recommendations can be interpreted as anything - maybe you have books to recommend that are on the darker end of the spectrum, or books that are more scary, or in my case some really thrilling manga! What books would you recommend this year?

Thank you so much as always and I hope you have a wonderful October (and drink as many Pumpkin Spice Lattes as you can)!

Cheers,
G-Swizz
Aug 31, 2022 06:29PM

1085301 HELLO EVERYONE!

You know when you have an email in the drafts and you never send it on time because you assume you already did? Welp, these topics are late for a similar reason and I sincerely apologise!

Alright, without further ado here are the topics:

4th - Low-Rated Goodreads Books You Love

What books have a lower average Goodreads rating that you reckon deserve more love?

11th - High-Rated Goodreads Books You Don't Like

A follow up from the previous topic but the opposite - what are some books with a higher average rating that you didn't like?

18th - Books That Didn't Meet Your Expectations

Maybe you featured this book in a 5 star predictions TBR or you assumed it would be a favourite based on recommendations - what books did you expect more from that you unfortunately didn't get?

and Finally

25th - Companion Novels/Series Recommendations

We've discussed series and standalones previously, but are there any companion novels or series that you would also like to recommend?

Thank you so much for your patience if you happened to be waiting for these to be up - I hope you have a wonderful month!

Cheers,
Grace
