Wow, thanks for the analysis Nerdy. Pondering Toreth and how he ticks is a favorite pastime. I was just rereading the story about where he goes to Greece for a weeks and he decides (sorta) to not sleep around. It was such a novelty for him. Of course, his hiring the PI to follow Warrick turned out to be a clusterfuck. Bad negative conditioning, LOL.

Erika and Fenriz, I get it. I'm pretty sure it's the publisher that doesn't quite get the present day practice of releasing print and ebook at the same time. I also get how you can go meh on a beloved author/series when it takes so long for release. I'm still looking forward to the read and hope it's good.

Welp.... I was asleep at the wheel, I had no idea this came out. Very excited!!!
Fenriz wrote: "Manna Francis posted the cover of Book 9 on Tumblr and got updated here :)"Oh thank you for the update

Thank you for passing on the info Antonella!

Thank you Bea for the update. It's great to hear there is progress towards the elusive book 9.

Hey everyone. It's been a while, but I just noticed that Manna has made one of the stories from
Blood & Circuses available on her site. The story is called Weekend Plans and is really the only one that features Warrick and Toreth together. A belated xmas gift to the fans!

Hi Melissa, I think you have a Manna Francis TA hangover. My advice is 1) re-read, re-read, re-read and 2) accept that nothing else will be quite like TA.

I liked the working relationship between Ruiz and Toreth. It's like they saw eye to eye on many things, and just when you think there might me a connection, nope, not gonna happen.
Also, LOL to Texas being part of South California.

Maybe a 2nd reading (i'll wait for the ebook) might reveal some clues about Grimm.

One little world building tibit that was dropped (semi-relevant to today's SCOTUS ruling) was that Jameson had 2 registered partners. I guess this is what happens when the Government stays out of the bedroom, LOL.

So glad someone chimed in here, it was just me and the crickets.
Not enough Warrick, indeed. And as a result, it probably won't be as well received once it is released. But being a super fan, I just really enjoy her writing and plotting, so all is well with me.

For those who have read or are reading and don't mind spoilers. Discuss away!

I empathize, having to wait for an ebook is frustrating. However, I would like to give the author/publisher the benefit of the doubt they are working to make it available. I imagine that there are all sorts of rules and copyright issues to deal with when publishing that are never an issue with free online fics. Casperian appears to be a very small house perhaps they don't have the resources to make a simultaneous ebook/paperback release.
I also don't begrudge the author for wanting to make some $ instead of making it available for free. Although I really believe if they ran some discount pricing on Amazon/Kobo, she might find a wider audience. $9.99 for a kindle book is steep and probably puts off many potential readers.

Ok everyone, here's the dope, directly from Ms. Francis herself.
June 15, presale at
Casperian Books.
Unfortunately limited to the US/Canada. The paperback will be available everywhere online that you'd expect come the 1st of July release (Amazon, Book Depository, etc). The only geographic limit is in the presale. Casperian actually stopped shipping outside the US/Canada a few years ago, after the US Postal Service revamped their charging system and the postage became prohibitively expensive.
And many of you were asking about the ebook, the not so great news:The ebook version will come out a few months after the paperback. (Six months, I think.)
I will be sending out this info to the TA group and direct them to this thread for news.

I am trying to get info on the ebook. I will let everyone know what I learn.

I just read it... what a treat to read fresh new Manna Francis
