126776 Hi Courtney. Congratulations on the book. Just a thought but you may want to offer free review copies if you're looking fir reviews. Not everyone is on kindle unlimited and few reviewers will buy the book they've been asked to review. You can create mobi and azw3 and epub files using Calibre, a free file conversion program. Wishing you lots of luck.

126776 Hi Jen. Sounds like my sort of thing. Sign me up. Do you have a time scale in mind? That's the only constraint for me. PM if interested.

Also for basics in Sketchbook try searching on Youtube. There's a lot of great tutorials.
126776 How are you with Sketchbook? You can download a free version of it (of in a pinch you might get away with Paint although I've never used it for maps) and it can be used with a tablet sketchpad that plugs into your PC. I have been enjoying this for digital art and have created a lot of my own covers etc

If you can get a good resolution photo of your maps, you can open it in Sketchbook and edit the photo by adding layers. There's lots of online tutorials but I can send some links if you're interested. The main thing is to think about detail as in order to add to a ebook, you need to reduce the resolution to an acceptable level so lots of small fiddly detail will be lost. Bold, clear designs work really well though.

126776 Thanks everyone. Really helpful. I'll let you know how I get on :)

126776 Hi guys :)

Has anyone here released one of their books as permanently free on Amazon? I realise you can no longer do this by just setting the book's price to £/$ 0.00 and that you have to upload the book else where - eg Smashwords - and Amazon will price match it. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I have been trying to get amazon to price match one of my books which is free on other platforms for about 6 weeks now and nothing has happened.

Any idea of how long this takes?

Or is there a better way of approaching it?

Thanks in advance!

126776 Silverfish have moved out of old books and on to tech?! Is this a sign of the end times?

126776 With respect, Bernard, I think perhaps it might be necessary to distinguish between the blurb and Author. I haven't read this book and I can't say I plan to. The blurb seems to have inspired a strong reaction in you. I would request that no matter your opinion, you behave respectfully towards other group members. It is also worth bearing in mind that this book and blurb were posted as a request for reviews not for feedback, so your response was not entirely appropriate in any case.

126776 I know what you mean, Sue. Thankfully 'serious artists' like him seem to be frw in this group - and we're all the better for I say.

I know we discussed bacon socks before but did we ever cover socks fashioned from cheese?

Oh my gods. Can't stop laughing.

No I meant restricting stripes to socks in general.

Ubiquitous, you need friendlier socks. Yours sound far to mean. Unless you have an uber case of athlete's foot it's really not called for ;)

126776 I really like a stripey sock. You can't go wrong with stripes. Although my favourites have little hedgehogs on them.

126776 welvome aboard Sejepan, Sam and Sharolyn. Great to have you with us. Feel free to add ypur books to the group.shelf and you can use the book market folder to promote your book.

Love Kristin Cashore - Though I found Bitterblue s little disappointing.

Ocrtavia Butler is one of my favourite authors - like the Seed to Harvest series best.
