162517 Has anyone started this or already finished? The reviews have been five star and authors like John Green and Jason Reynolds have also given it high praise. I was pretty blown away by it myself--the protagonist Starr already faces issues of race from both sides of her world before tragedy hits. And after? It's on another level... I'm really glad I read it.
162517 This is going to be such a fun read for summer! I'm a total Black Sails (Starz TV series) fan and there is one female pirate on that show that reminds me of the main character...

162517 This will be our June read. It's gotten so much attention since it released at the end of February, and it's very timely. If you're going to get a copy from the library it might be good to get on the list for this one now if there is a wait.

162517 I'm really curious how the movie will go when it opens in a couple of weeks. It's been a while since I read the book but so much has stayed with me! Who else has already read it? Book first then movie? Sometimes I like to preserve my own image of the characters so not sure I'll see it or not...

162517 I really enjoyed the personal growth we saw in both main characters as they came to understand things about their societies prejudices and misdeeds (historical and present time) and what that meant for each of them personally and in the community. I love dual narration, especially the past/present like this one. No spoilers but the revelation at the end about the cigar store owner in Will's time had a good twist to it, even though I expected there to be something more than met the eye...

162517 Caraval has me picturing every detail the way I felt like I did with The Night Circus...I want one of those invitations from Legend to stare at all day.

162517 I'm really thrilled we're going to read this for April -- Dreamland Burning is going to be a nice change in direction from our more fantasy driven books in February and March. It looks amazing, can't wait to start...

162517 The votes were close between Caraval and City of Saints & Thieves but Caraval is the poll favorite. Should be a good one to kick off the spring...

162517 I thought we might start this year with a month hiatus (January) and choose our next three months' books now so we can read ahead and folks can get books added to wish lists or waiting lists once we have them. I've posted three polls at the bottom of our home page - one for each of the next three months. Please vote there or send me a message with your choices by next Monday, January 16th. Looking forward to seeing everyone's picks!

162517 Our book this month is Sarah J. Maas' Throne of Glass. This has been such a popular series--the fourth book was last year's Goodreads YA Fiction Readers Choice award winner--how many of you have had this on the "to read" shelf?
