177170 It is just about 2 years since this reading challenge started. Only Voldemort has completed it so far.

I have not been reading much lately. I am reading about as fast as GRRM is writing. But I only have 2 books left to finish. Stupid "U" books.

Is anyone else still doing this challenge?

177170 It does not appeal to me. From what I have read about it, it's a giant history book.

I hate history books so you guys enjoy!
177170 Oh Roseanne that is too funny.
177170 I don't know what to make of that episode. Cersei and Jaime (if they are indeed really dead) deserved more exciting deaths.
177170 Not bad, but disturbing.
177170 Oh my God that was so good. Lots of setting up for the following episodes but holy crap Jaime made it there!

I watched with a friend and he thought it sucked. "No enough fighting and blood." I said just wait! Shit us gonna go down!

177170 Hi.

I am still picking away at this challenge with 6 more letters to go. My problem: I dont seem to finish many of the books I start reading. Ooops.

It has been over a year since it started. How is everyone else doing with it?

Unfortunately that date was "July 2019"

Oh well, no need to rush finishing Dances with Dragons then..."

Do you have the link please Randy? Unless it's from GRRM's official site I am not 100% convinced there is a confirmed release date.

177170 Hi Shamima. Welcone to the group.

1. Is the books easy to read?
-no definitely not easy reads. But it's worth the extra effort. I was constantly looking up info. online but I like that kind of thing.

2, Should I watch the tv series or reading the books first ?
-i did both at the same time but don't really recommend my way. Reading the books first is the best way however keep in mind that all the books are not yet written and the show will conclude before the books are done.

3, Are these books scared?
-scary? No! Gross! Yes!

4 ,Give me a reasons why I should read Game Of Thrones series
-it has a little bit of everything:
Drama
Fantasy
Deceit
Romance
Power struggles
Action
Mystery
Sex
Royalty

177170 Grrrrrr! I did it again. I started feading The Name of the Wind

I sort of knew there were other books in this series. I just found out it is a trilogy and the 3rd book is not yet released and there is no release date set. Dammit!

Sound familiar GRRM fans?

177170 from GOT wiki:

"Biography
Background

Before he became the first White Walker, the Night King was a First Man that was captured by the Children of the Forest, Leaf among them. Leaf pressed a dragonglass dagger into his chest, causing his eyes to turn blue and turning him into the first of the White Walkers. Thousands of years later, Leaf tells Bran Stark that her people created the White Walkers to defend themselves when Westeros was invaded by the First Men, who were cutting their sacred trees and slaughtering the Children of the Forest."

Hmmm. That is a good question. To me it was just a known fact since early on.
