185 Ya'll are fast! :)

That's got to be a record. LOL! I'm so excited to have found it. I feel so nerdy, but I guess I'm in the right place. :)
185 I FOUND IT - I FOUND IT - I FOUND IT!!!!!!!

I can't believe it, but I found it. It was so random, too. I was at our local Friends of the Public Library, and I happened to see a copy of Starsong by Dan Parkinson. I picked it up and immediately recognized the cover. I'm so excited, so after more than 14 1/2 years - this thread is officially solved! :) :) :) :) :) I'm a big enough nerd that I did a little dance in the store. LOL.

LOL - this thread is as old as my daughter! :) I'm ridiculously excited to have this solved.

Oh my goodness! This is it! Thank you so much. I don't know why I didn't get an alert from Goodreads (ooooorrrrr maybe I did and missed it! LOL.). Yay! I am so glad you found it. I'm so jazzed! Thank you - thank you - thank you!!!
185 Interesting! Yes, it’s too new, but that’s pretty cool to find another book with aliens that communicate through singing.
185 Oh, also, I think they looked similar to humans and could communicate with humans, but they could communicate with each other through music.
185 Good question. I believe it was for adults and the aliens were adults. Of course, I was pretty young when I read it, but I’m pretty sure they were adults.
185 LOL! that would be pretty cool! :)
185 You can certainly move it. I am still looking for the book, but I don’t think anyone knows it!
185 Thanks! That is the book I read. It seems silly, but it has been bugging me for years! I mean, the book was HORRIBLE, but it's been bugging me that I couldn't remember what it was. LOL. Silly. Thanks for the help.

Actually, I didn't realize it when I posted, but someone else actually sent a message that said it looked like someone might have found the book. So hooray for both of you! :)
185 So weird - I JUST got an email about this thread! Uh, well, better late than never! LOL. Rachel - Thank you! I think that might be it. I haven't been able to find information about the author yet, but it does sound like the book.
185 By any chance could it by Wicked as They Come (Blud, #1) by Delilah S. Dawson This woman also has two lives - one that takes over when she sleeps.
185 Thanks. I'd actually really love to find out the information.
185 I found a book at a used book store years ago about Martin Luther King, Jr. It was written by a preacher (I'm pretty sure). I didn't have to get very far into it to realize it was written by a racist. It was an awful book, but it was a very interesting look into the mind of a 60's racist. The book was written in the 60's. Any ideas? I'm very curious to see who wrote this book.

185 The Beast Quest books have a girl named Elenna who has a wolf named Silver. The books aren't about the wolf though.
185 Thanks for the suggestion. I looked through all of Foster's books, and I don't think it was one of his. Good suggestion though! He's written a ton.

Yea, it's not a very big or deep book. I think at the end when they were trying to get off the planet, there were quite a few humans trying to help them. I seem to remember one of the aliens riding on top of a car singing at one point.
185 I remembered something else (I think!) - the woman does regular yoga, and I think she lives in a second story apartment. Yea, I know it's not much, but... Anyone?
185 Here's what I remember about the book - the woman is in her 70's, and the man is in his 50's. I think he is American and she is French. They are living in France - Paris, I think. The woman has been blind since her early life (maybe 20's). She and the man are in love. At one point, she can see for a while - she is shocked to see him because he is, "so old!" I think she dies at the end of the book. Any suggestions???
185 Okay - I can't believe it, but I just found it! It wasn't about the cities themselves, but the conditions that the children in those cities live in and the schools they go to. It's called Savage Inequalities.
