Did you see the sorta recent article about the woman whose $60,000+ helicopter ride to a hospital was denied by her insurance? She collapsed at home after taking her dog for a walk and paramedics decided she needed to be taken immediate to a hospital an hour away. She was unconcious after collapsing for two days, and her health insurance still decided to deny it, saying she needed to authorize it beforehand. How is an unconcious person going to authorize anything?

Welcome to the new members!

Have fun, Aly! I think we're going to West Virginia this summer.

I generally don't like bugs.

lol.
I would like to see it in my country, too. I've heard horror stories of people with type 1 diabetes being kicked off their parents' health insurance at 26 and not being able to afford their insulin after that, so they have to ration it and end up dying as a result. I've also heard multiple horror stories of health insurance companies denying necessary medical procedures, helicopter flights to hospitals that are better suited to a patient's needs or condition, etc. I just find that absolutely heartbreaking.

I've been selling books online for awhile now, and could link to my website if you want to order off it and have me mail you books? (I feel weird just randomly linking to my website; I know a lot of people don't like advertising.)

Welcome to all the new people!

We got word that my grandma died this morning.

I've been getting a TON of orders lately, so I've been busy with that.

I'm not fond of romance novels. I like horror novels, too.
Aly wrote: "What else to do like to read?"I'm all over the place lol. I like historical fiction, fantasy, realistic fiction, history, and, occasionally, mysteries. My favorites are historical fiction and fantasy, especially urban fantasy. What about you?

Do you think universal healthcare should be a thing in your country?

Probably not, that'll just fuel people's love for it even more. It'll be a forbidden fruit thing, with people more curious and interested in it than if they left it alone.

I saw the new debate area! I think it's a good idea. I thought about adding a couple debates, but I was kind of distracted, and didn't.

Thanks. My grandma officially entered hospice care today, and I'm thinking she probably doesn't have much longer; she's stopped eating, and started sleeping more.

We got a new dog, after my cat died. Her name's Carrara.

Sooo much. I got a new computer and had a hard time signing into my Goodreads account, my cat died, and my grandma went into the hospital twice. We're now talking about putting her in hospice, because she's rapidly declining.
Aly wrote: "What do you like to do when it is hot outside?"I like to stay inside and drink something cold, like an iced coffee or a smoothie when it's hot out.

I recently finished
Gods of Londinium.
