Well, while I have not really solved the problem yet completely, I did get the Nora Roberts books in audio through Netgalley but I did not know I had to use their audio reader. It works great for audio books acquired through Netgalley but I still need a better solution for some type of text reader for all the non-audio books I have in my TBR. Does a Fire let you do audio for any book?

FYI: The audiobook for whole The Lost Bride Trilogy is available for request on Netgalley

I think I may be getting to the point that reading is not as relaxing as it has been for most of my life due to eye strain that seems not to be solved with glasses. I may have to start learning to enjoy audio books but I think I read someplace that some Kindles will read books for you in audio (obviously more of a robot voice). Anyone know if that is true?

Well, I decided that I was going to break this slump and go to one of my "sure thing" authors good old Nora Roberts. So I grabbed
Inheritance and definitely not disappointed. At the 4% marks and already have 1 murder, 1 curse, 1 bride-to-be discovering her cheating groom/almost husband naked in bed with a bridesmaid and now a Cajun friend who wants to help her get even. Yeah baby, you got my attention LOL

I am still in a bit of a reading slump, nothing really holds me. I am playing games and watching dramas. This happens every few years but usually not for this long

I think anyone who read the Urban Shaman series loved Gary the taxi driver, I remember him more clearly than the main character

I fell away from the series at least 10 books back, I think."I still read them but the new ones are not even in the same league as the first ones, the humor is almost missing completely

This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me also but I wish they would actually tell me why, they give a list of possible reasons and no way you could pick one out.

Well in between my recent addiction to Chinese Drama I grabbed this one
The Immortal Doc Holliday: Hidden also I did request
This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me which I am curious about since my request was rejected by Edelweiss

She is also a computer programmer. They both love to collect...stamps.

Well, once again I am binge watching all 7 seasons of "The Mentalist" and since I am about half way through the 5th season maybe I can get back to my reading soon. For reasons unknown I seem to be hooked on more visual entertainment the last 2-3 months. I have several books I really want to finish but can't get my head into it yet

Happy 4th to everyone and it is hard to believe it has been 8 years since I stumbled around without a clue and finally created this forum after Amazon let us know they were shutting down their forums. Mind boggling that is has been around 16 years of chatting for those of us who used to be on the Amazon forums.

They take a long time to get through, but the bad guys get it in the end."yes, a lot of slapping and corporate revenge stories, secret billionaires that work days as delivery boys :)

One of the reasons I seldom even bother with Edelweiss is I get turned down about 90+% of the time when on Netgalley I get approved 90+% of the time. As usual they turned me down on
This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me I could never get a reason as to why. I have several books I want to read but trying to stay in good graces with the folks at Netgalley so I must read/review
The Writer and the Rogue before I can get to better ones (not sure why I even requested this one)

Well my reading has suffered since sick dogs, Chinese dramas, binge watching the whole "Mentalist" series has eaten most of my time but I am still trying to get through
Love, The Duke which is not a bad book but I am still not back to my usual reading cycle. I have to admit I am still hooked on Chinese/Asian drama since so many of them are delicious revenge stories ,I especially love the ones they call "reborn" drama where some person dies and gets to go back a few years being reborn and exact their revenge LOL. Simple things for simple minds I guess :)

After looking at my Netgalley list of books I have to read and my TBR of an insane number of books I have decided a truth:
BOOK BUYING IS A HOBBY COMPLETELY UNRELATED TO BOOK READING
:)

I screamed a little in my store, lol."I am still waiting but for reasons I have never figured out I can get almost any book I wish from Netgalley and get turned down on Edelweiss for even the most simple book
