Yeah, I know about that book, but it was written 9 years ago and no other books have come out yet in that series.

Interesting! Thanks, Michielle. Why, oh why, does Lora Leigh have to throw such things into an already long series when she has tons of characters already to write their stories, try to close up lots of running plotlines that carry through the series, plus the elusive Winged Breeds that we all want to read about?
I'm suspecting a spin-off series may be in the works. All I know is LL better not keel over before she's age 200 - she has too many books to write! lol

Are the Nephilims different from the Winged Breeds or are they the same?

What books have the Nephilims been mentioned in? (Same for the Winged Breeds. ~ I think the first one where the Winged Breeds were mentioned might be 'Aiden's Charity' {originally published in 2007 and book 12 in Chronological reading order}.)

24255 I believe she has written some (a few anyway) books with curvy women heroines. (I don't recall which one off the top of my head.) I could be wrong though.

The reason the e-book is so high is because it's coming out at the same time as the hardback version. The publishers want to offer the digital version for those who prefer that, but it's at a high price because they want to make money. They can't have the digital version be an extremely lower price than the hardback. When the paperback comes out in 6 months to a year, then the e-book cost will also be lowered. (I always get the paperbacks on books I'm going to keep {plus I can't cozy up in bed with a digital device where the power can deplete and go dead}.)

24255 Yes, Jessica's points are also true.
(And when I said that I've stopped reading books in a series by other authors until the series is finished, I wasn't referring to Lora Leigh's books. I'm already invested in all of her series and I cannot keep myself away from any new paperbacks by her.)
Jan 03, 2014 01:30AM

24255 I'm not sure if any of the Breed books have started to come out in hardback first (like some books of other authors who have a series), but I never buy hardback books because of the price (and because they're larger and heavier). I wait until the paperback comes out.

The point you bring up is a reason that I've stopped reading long series of books by other authors and wait to start reading them when the series is finished. I do buy those paperback books when they come out so I will have them.

There are just so many authors now writing series (and some of the series can get quite long) that I'm just not going to invest myself in the stories in the books until the series is finished. That way I can read them in order when I want to and not have to wait for more books in the series to come out. (As you say, forgetting about characters/situations in said series because it's been so long since the last book came out.)

And I do realize that publishers will usually only allow 1-2 books per year of a series to be released, and I understand the reasons for it (beta readers, editing back and forth with the author which may involve re-writes, having a final line editor, making last minute edits, formatting, marketing/promo, book cover, publishing advanced reader copies to send to book reviewers, getting their feedback, perhaps having to make more edits before the book is released for sale, etc.). This just doesn't make it easy on the readers.

Hi - There is no couple named Tory and Ash in Lora Leigh's Breed series. I believe you're thinking of Sherrilyn Kenyon's book called 'Acheron'. (That hardback came out in mid-2008, and I'm not caught up on those books after that.)

24255 Hi Whyteoleander -

The other kids only do it because David does it. As far as we know, it's not resolved yet, but David's father said that he would talk to him about it (because Amber's mom was upset about it and told him about it).

I don't know exactly why David does it - perhaps they are destined to be future mates?

Hi Marianne -
Some of them can be read out-of-order, but the whole series builds upon itself with the purpose of having a big overall 'plot' (there are many sub-plots too of course). Depending upon what books(s) you read out-of-order, you may get confused (about a number of things).

24255 Wow, that is one long and involved story synopsis, which I had to read slowly. And the synopsis needed some additional editing. Lots of new names an relationships to try to remember and keep straight. This seems like a 'too involved' storyline for it just be a novella.

24255 Gloria -
The link you posted doesn't work (I think because the word 'page...' is part of the http address).

The link is: http://loraleighmusings.blogspot.com/

Are you referring to where the blog says:
THE DEVIL'S DUE
Coming July 2nd, 2013
ENTHRALLED, anthology with
Alyssa Day, Meljean Brook and Lora Leigh

Lora Leigh's novella is called 'The Devil's Due' {a Breed book} and the Hero is: Devril 'Devil' Black
Heroine is: Mary Katherine 'Katie' O'Sullivan
24255 Nette wrote: That's right! I remember..."

Nette - Remember 'Harmony's Way'? It was the 8th book in this series if you're reading in chronological order (11th if reading in published order). Harmony was nicknamed "Death". I think that's who Lora Leigh was referring to in that book where "she" and "Death" are mentioned. (I believe that Harmony did kill all the scientists at the lab she was at.) She is Jonas' half-sister.

24255 @Nette -
I think that Jonas scented that Liza (aka Honor) is Stygian's mate; perhaps he also realized that she was actually Honor, who they were looking for, because he thinks she may hold the key to his daughter, Amber's, situation. And, yes, Liza/Honor was one of the earlier test subjects because her leukemia was somehow cured.

In regards to Gideon - he had a few blood transfusions from Fawn, which kept him from dying. Which is why he's in mating heat.

24255 @Nette -
Rule's future mate is a mystery (I'm thinking she may be a human).

I'm pretty sure that Cassie's mate will not be human and it's unlikely he will be a hybrid. He climbed the wall to the hospital to see Cassie in her room (in 'Dawn's Awakening') & he said something about that should have been a two-man job, and I think he can control his scent.

24255 @Nette -
Yes, I read that about Rule knowing who his mate is (sounds like a human).

We are pretty sure that 'Liza' is actually Honor Roberts, who will be Stygian's mate in the next Breed book.
