Thank you very much Pilar for this video. Today I will be celebrating with my friends and 24 readers from my social communities (selected on the first come/first served basis) my patron saint, Saint Joseph. We will have a dinner, music, dance, but we will also pray for the sake of the world. This is the English prayer (we will have it in four different languages) that we will pray together at 10:30 PM:
Glorious St. Joseph, model of all who are devoted to labor,
obtain for me the grace to work conscientiously by placing love of duty above my inclinations;
to gratefully and joyously deem it an honor to employ and to develop by labor the gifts I have received from God,
to work methodically, peacefully, in moderation and patience, without ever shrinking from it through difficulty to work;
above all, with purity of intention and unselfishness, having unceasingly before my eyes
the account I have to render of time lost, talents unused, good not done, and vain complacency in success.
St. Joseph, inspire and guide me for the time to come.

I just launched yesterday a Free Texts section in my blog so that you may copy-paste any of my texts as long as you mention my name in your blogs, sites, etc. Please visit the following link:

we are all seeking love - but there are many roads that may lead to it.
That's the way I see it

you don't how happy I am to read what you have written. it's magical and humbling for me.
It's difficult for me to say which books could be complementary to The Alchemist, but I would say that my book has echoes to The Prophet (Khalil Gibran) and Siddharta (Herman Hesse).

I trust the translators - my father in law was one and I could see how dedicated he was to be as faithful to the original work.
I consider them as builders of bridges and thanks to their efforts my soul is able to reach so many people.

I agree with Max and it's funny how I had the same question concerning Murakami!

please don't call me guru... I'm really not one and to be honest I don't like to be called one.
Gurus pretend to have answers for everything and at the end of day strip others of their own capability to deal with life.
I know you meant it as a compliment but I prefer if you see me as a fellow man - that has the same questionings as you do.
Concerning the camino - I've made some links available in my website :

the day I'll understand that, it will be the day I'll loose my soul.
I want to respect the mystery and honor this wonderful chance of being understood.

I don't want to control people's interpretation and I am eager to see how they will adapt the book into the screen.
I trust my readers to be faithful to the message of the book.

I can't predict how readers will react to my characters. You must bare in mind that my characters are mirrors of my soul and that it's magic to see how they might be perceived.

are you mentioning Candide by Voltaire?
Funny, I never thought of this parallel and to be honest I can't truly agree. Candide is at the end of it all a very skeptic book. The initiation of Candide is fundamentally a glooming one - shutting himself from the world to merely concentrate on "his little garden".
