Me too Art! We had a fabulous team & always enjoy being teammates with you!
I’m not usually this discombobulated but it’s been a really weird & sad couple months with 3 funerals for people who were close to us and way too young.
Looking forward to starting a new year - come on 2019!

Review: I am disappointed I didn't like this book more because I know it's a favorite of a lot of folks. I liked the characters ok and the story was ok but it just seemed to move very slowly for me. Fantasy and I have a love/hate relationship. Either I LOVE it, or I have a lot of trouble keeping interested. Unfortunately, this one was the latter...
Sorry for the delay on this one! I was out of town and things have been a bit discombobulated.

Review: I love that you always know what you're going to get with Kristen Ashley! These are very cute stories with MC's I find easy to relate with that always leave me with warm-fuzzies. This one didn't disappoint. It was about Cora who woke up in an alternate universe with birds she can talk to and hot warrior men who ride horses. The story begins with Cora in the alternate universe who then, of course, hooks up with with Noctorno -- and then follows all her shinanigans trying to figure out what's what in this strange land. I loved that the story then also travels to Cora's world where Noctorno needs to learn how to navigate all the oddities of a time and place he is unfamiliar with. Adding to the fun, there's an alternate universe "Cora" who we'll call "Bad Cora" who definitely keeps Cora on her toes.

Review: I really ended up enjoying this book. It was a quick freebie and thought it looked good. The story follows a couple who had one of those storybook romances with a lovely life until they experienced some really disappointing and devastating challenges with fertility and trying to start a family. You could see how that could divide a husband and wife as they each grieve in their own way. Both the husband and wife were likable characters I found easy to connect to. There was also a side story that sort of spiced it up with another couple who were sort of mysteriously connected... ;) I'll definitely be reading the second book in the series!

Review: Hands down, this is the best book I've read so far in this round of bingo. I'm not even sure why I was so taken by this book as I typically don't care for fae books and the pacing would likely be considered to be slow by some. However, I was grabbed from the beginning all the way through to the very last page. -- and then I had to by the 1.5 novella immediately afterwards since the 2nd book in the series isn't due out until 2019. Nooooooo!!!! I enjoyed every single twist and turn and I found the world building quite captivating. Typically I find too much world building as tedious, but Holly Black did an awesome job providing just enough information to paint a vivid visual without overdoing it and causing me to eye roll or skip ahead. I loved that no one seemed black and white -- the characters were very multi-dimensional -- which kept me on my toes trying to figure out where the story was going to go next.

Review:
In hindsight, I probably should have continued on with the Elder Race series and twin-read with Angie! I am wondering if I just wasn't in the mood or maybe I had the bar set to high going into it. The first half of the book seemed very dry and hard to get into. The second half did seem to pick up and was more enjoyable. I did enjoy a lot of the world building and found it interesting that the dragons could exist side-by-side with humans undiscovered and the memories that her mom was able to pass down. I just didn't really connect with the main character and never felt like I couldn't put the book down.

Review This book was a highly entertaining read! I enjoyed all the banter between Pia and Dragos, as well as their off-the-charts chemistry. The world building sort of had me a big bogged down at the beginning but I'm happy to say it picked right up as the book moved on and ended up being hard to put down. Pia had to grow on me a bit as sometimes I felt like smacking her, but she was going through a lot and her world had changed so I tried to keep that in mind. Dragos was about as alpha as they come while not being a complete douche ~ I could definitely see the reason for Pia's attraction. They were awesome together. I have to say I was surprised I liked this dragon book so much as generally it's not my thing!
