Hello all!
During the month of August we jumped over to a discord server to read IT together. Discord has been a great place to chat about the book club pick and just books in general but we know some people are missing the GoodReads group so it's back!
Future reads:
September - Salem's Lot (plus short stories Jerusalem's Lot & One for the Road which are located in Night Shift)
October - The Shining
November - 11/22/63
December - Dreamcatcher

One for the Road is a short story sequel located in Night Shift. This is not a necessary read to enjoy Salem's Lot but is a fun addition!

Jerusalem's Lot is a short story prequel located in Night Shift. Not necessary to enjoy Salem's Lot but a fun addition!

With a lot of King’s work I feel they’re too long or that sections are unnecessary but usually by the time I finish the book I couldn’t imagine it without them!

Definitely an emotional read! I didn’t know much about this book prior to reading it either. I enjoyed how everything came together. I like when books jump between the past and the present. I had some issues with the pacing or maybe it was just due to the reading mood I’ve been in lately.

I agree! Once Candy was dealt with I was like “hell yeah!” lol. He was also dealt with in a very cool yet creepy way with the lack of features.

Wireman's story is so damn depressing and heartbreaking! Difficult to read. I'm interested in finding out what is going on with how Wireman and Elizabeth acted. Maybe a history??

Finally getting into/around to this book! Definitely lots of emotions going on here. I feel horrible for Edgar and what he went through and then to have his wife leave him. But if she fears for her safety it’s understandable. And the frustration he has with his mental and physical injuries/issues is heartbreaking. I’m glad his daughter Ilse is so great to him. I’m excited to see where it goes. These first couple chapters feel like they’re just laying the ground work.
