50319 Man! You all have read everything, haha! I have a lot of catching up to do this year if I can get my hands on most of those books. :)

I love John Howe's paintings! I had that Ulmo painting, The Fall of Gondolin, the Fall of Fingolfin and The Door..."

I'll have to look at them. I like Middle Earth paintings... Like the group's picture. :)

Yeah, that book is great. That's a good yearly book. I used to read it every year on camping trips. :)

Those are my favorites too... except I haven't read Tale of Aldarion and Erendis. But yeah, everything by Tolkien that I've read, I have loved. I have a lot left to read though unfortunately.

I remember Maeglin and I remember quite a bit of Earendil. Thanks for the summery. It offers the info I need. :)

50319 I completely agree about The Hobbit. It felt too much like some Hollywood production... Like it was more for the drama and less of the Tolkien feel to it... if you know what I mean.
Apr 20, 2013 09:40PM

50319 Yeah, I don't remember much of that one... I didn't pick up a whole lot back in 7th grade. I should probably read The Silmarillion again, haha!

50319 Yeah, when he went back, it followed the book pretty well Faramir-wise.

Sorry, yeah we kinda are procrastinating. It's hard for us all to get on consistently, but I guess we could sometime soon. I'm halfway through Les Miserables, but I could get my rear in gear and try to get this group into action.

50319 That would be really cool if we could figure out how, haha!

Idk if it has Rosetta Stone. I doubt it would, but that would be cool. I don't know if it's worth the Rosetta Stone money though, haha.

50319 Yeah, the movies will be awesome, but now they're making 3! Why 3? Why not one? I think it's for making money.

Yes! We could learn as a group! haha! That would be fun. :)

Hi LM! That's pretty funny! Most people get into The Hobbit but not LOTR. Welcome to the group!

I've been rather inactive lately, but when I can get on more, we can decide on a book to read. Sorry about the inconvenience. :P

50319 Some of the Histories of Middle Earth I mean, not just the Lays. There are 12 volumes in the Histories. It's hard to get them though after the 5th one.

50319 Speaking of The Lays of Beleriand, I'd like to try and read some of those in the group sooner or later.
