message 1: by Gabriel (new)

Gabriel Alright, I suppose whether Dance with Dragons can really be called YA is debatable.

message 2: by Crazy Uncle Ryan (last edited Feb 25, 2009 02:16AM) (new)

Crazy Uncle Ryan Well, "The Wise Man's Fear" is certainly not YA but I voted for it anyway.

Also, since "Breaking Dawn" has now been released shouldn't it be removed? I mean, it's no longer "upcoming."

message 3: by Caitlín (new)

Caitlín K I *would* remove the books that have already been released, but I can't find any way to edit the list other than the title, description, and tags.

Crazy Uncle Ryan I think you actually have to be a goodreads librarian in order to remove books from a list.

message 5: by Neesha (new)

Neesha I don't see my book listed. Wah *cries*

message 6: by Michelle (new)

Michelle I'm glad you added it, Neesha! I've been going in to try and Debs books on here, but I'm so busy trying to get ready to leave that I've only been able to do a little at a time!

I can't even FIND Jonny's books on here...

message 7: by Michelle (new)

Michelle I keep clicking in the "score" link because I'm curious how this is all calculated, but nothing happens! Anybody know where I can find that out?

message 8: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Okay, I'm a dork. NOW the link is working... Heh.
:D

message 9: by C. (new)

C. McKenzie Thanks for the link. So many books!!!! Good grief when will I sleep?

message 10: by C. (new)

C. McKenzie p.s. how do you get into the author's page to edit? I have a cover jpg in my profile, but it's not showing up.

message 11: by Michelle (new)

Michelle It's there now and it looks great!
:D

message 12: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne Young Hm... My title is about to change. I wonder if I can get on the list?

message 13: by Mandy (new)

Mandy FYI, Dust of 100 Dogs, ENVY (a luxe novel) and Winnie's War are all available now!

message 14: by Mandy (new)

Mandy Suzanne-- just add your book to goodreads, then add it to this list. You can change the title yourself on goodreads, once you are a goodreads author.

message 15: by Shannon (new)

Shannon I deleted Lover Avenged by JR Ward because it most definitely is NOT teen! Ward's books are some of the most violent and sexual vampire books I've read apart from the Anita Blake series. Don't get me wrong, the BDB books are one of my favorite series, they just don't belong on this list.

message 16: by gina (new)

gina I just added Alyson Noel's Blue Moon.

message 17: by Megan (new)

Megan The Sorceress and Blood Promise! Yay!

message 18: by Lianna (last edited May 31, 2009 06:46PM) (new)

Lianna It would be nice if you removed the books that are already released (ex. Breaking Dawn, Wings, The Awakening, Hunger).

But I voted for Blood Promise, Blue Moon, Gone, and Hunger.

message 19: by Hunter (new)

Hunter Didriksen THESE BOOKS ARE TOO OLD FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

I CANT WAIT UNTIL BLOOD PROMISE COME OUT!!

message 21: by Maren (new)

Maren Good list.

message 22: by bookbrews (new)

bookbrews Some of the books had been released. f.e. Crash Into Me (07/07/09). I want that book so bad, but it's a hardcover book that costs $16.99 in listed price. =( Gotta have it.

message 23: by Sophie (new)

Sophie OK, I went and deleted everything with a release date ON OR BEFORE today, August 11, 2009. If I deleted something in error, it's because it had a release date listed on Goodreads as before today, not because I hate you.

The only exception was Midnight Sun. I'm not sure what to do about that one and I don't want to bring down the Wrath of Twilight Fans upon my head.

message 24: by Travis (new)

Travis Seriously? The fifth most anticipated upcoming book of the entire YA genre is a guide for another book? That's seriously sad.

Sophie Travis wrote: "Seriously? The fifth most anticipated upcoming book of the entire YA genre is a guide for another book? That's seriously sad."

Never underestimate the power of Twilight.

message 26: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Removed stuff released up to today - someone did some serious Tamora Pierce spamming and added 25+ of her books, got rid of those too.

message 27: by Sophie (new)

Sophie Ashley wrote: "Removed stuff released up to today - someone did some serious Tamora Pierce spamming and added 25+ of her books, got rid of those too."

Thanks, noticed that but didn't get a chance to do anything about it.

message 28: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Made me wish for a mass/batch delete option! :)

message 29: by Guistinna (new)

Guistinna omg, i can NOT wait for-The Reckoning, Shadowland, The Clockwork Angel, Strange Fate, City of Fallen Angels, and Spells, and Burned (A House of Night Novel series, even thought its not on there.yet)

message 30: by Andrew (last edited Nov 13, 2009 02:21PM) (new)

Andrew AUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHHHH!!! Twilight is OVER! Done! No more little official guides to be the best young adult book! The official guide should NOT be at the very top, or even on this list.

message 31: by *Michelle* (new)

*Michelle* I agree!!

message 32: by Travis (new)

Travis Yup, agree, as I mentioned above. Then it was 5th on the list, now it's 2nd. It's a guide people. I could maybe at least understand if it was another Twilight book, but a guide for the series is the most exciting upcoming release for so many? Honestly, then some of you need to broaden your horizons or pick up some real books.

Guides can be nice, but seriously, try looking at some of those other books on the shelves and open your mind a bit if the best you can come up with is a freaking guide for the most exciting upcoming release.

message 33: by Adam (new)

Adam Witch and Wizard, The Red Ptramid, and Linger.

message 34: by Adam (new)

Adam And Bitterblue.

Adi (Reading in the Windowseat) There are books in this list I can't wait to read, there are some I'm intrugued about and there are some I won't read at all, but as a whole - good list.
I really want to read Bitterblue, Gone, The Clockwork Angel, The Hunger Games 3 and a few others

message 36: by Adam (new)

Adam AndHunger Games 3. I soexcited- my LA teacher has an uncorrected proof copy of linger, and she is passing it aroundto the people om her lasses and im next in line.woohoo!

message 37: by *Michelle* (new)

*Michelle* wow, thats good.

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

I can't wait until sooo many of these books come out!! I'm so excited for a bunch of them :D

message 39: by zara (new)

zara spirit bound, spirit bound, spirit bound!!! can't wait to read it.

message 40: by Lyndsey (new)

Lyndsey I question Charlaine Harris being on this list. It's read by teens, but not published for them.

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

Sophie wrote: "OK, I went and deleted everything with a release date ON OR BEFORE today, August 11, 2009. If I deleted something in error, it's because it had a release date listed on Goodreads as before today, n..."

Hahaha, I wouldn't want that either (the twilight fan part). Those people are crazy!

message 42: by Mariya (new)

Mariya i thought this one most exciting YA list. not most exciting books.

message 44: by Cori Lee (new)

Cori Lee ily these books <3<3

message 45: by Christina (new)

Christina The Last Hero!! WWWOOOOOTT! ^_^

message 46: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ Christina wrote: "The Last Hero!! WWWOOOOOTT! ^_^"

YESSSSSS. So looking forward to it! I read the first chapter online and it was incredible. I'm so excited I might explode. :)

Also can't wait for Clockwork Angel (16 DAYS!) plus the rest of the Mortal Instruments books. Also Bitterblue, Beautiful Darkness, Scorch Trials, The Gathering, Behemoth … *squee*

And the, like, 3 people who voted for Monsters of Men––I ordered it from the UK because I couldn't wait until September and OMIFREAKINGGOODNESS it was definitely the best in the series and like the best freaking book ever. More people should read Chaos Walking!!! They're astounding. :)

message 47: by Christina (new)

Christina thats so cool :) and i pre ordered The Lost Hero, so when it comes out, its coming straight to mee! :)

message 48: by Mis_Reading (new)

Mis_Reading The books I'm most excited about are all by Cassandra Clare. I think I'm on an urban fantasy kick. I'm not a fan of regular fantasy, I like it to take place in a world I'm familiar with. There are so few books like that that are actually any good. Most 'urban fantasy' books look like romance novels, ugh.

message 49: by [deleted user] (last edited Aug 28, 2010 03:21PM) (new)

Hey...Monster High is out.

message 50: by oliviasbooks (new)

oliviasbooks I deleted River Marked and The Wise Man's Fear, 'cause the aren't YA.
