Tiffany I like list like these

message 2: by Buggy (new)

Buggy Thanks, I thought it was a cool idea and we get to see what everyone else is reading

message 3: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Yeah, plus you get idea's of what you might like or new stuff you may not look at before

Booklover Butterfly Great list! I can't wait until more people vote because then some books will have more than one vote (hopefully and we can start seeing what is popular this year

message 5: by Buggy (new)

Buggy Yeah, wow this list is turning out to be way more interesting than I thought, lots of great reads here I would never have found.

Booklover Butterfly Oh, absolutely. I'm going to have to check out quite a few of these.

Booklover Butterfly Thanks for the recommendation, Shannon.

message 9: by Buggy (last edited Feb 10, 2010 07:28PM) (new)

Buggy Thanks everyone, what a great list we're creating. Not that this has anything to do with anything going on here here but I got to touch the Olympic torch this morning as it came on the ferry to my small Island community, a surprisingly moving moment. Cheers

message 10: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Oh that is so awesome J Bug!!!

Booklover Butterfly That's very cool, J Bug!

message 12: by Elisa (new)

Elisa That's fantastic J Bug! I'm jealous! Did anyone watch the opening ceremonies?

message 13: by Buggy (new)

Buggy Thanks guys it was kinda exciting for 5:30 in the morning in a very laid back community. I thought the opening ceremonies were amazing. Good to see Betty Fox, Mr Hanson and Wayne riding around in the back of a truck in the rain.

message 14: by Elisa (new)

Elisa They brought the torch to my school and there was an entire ceremony, but I didn't get to touch it. I loved the Aboriginal's welcoming all of the athletes, and then the fiddling performance! Those were my three favourite people, as well as Donald Sutherland and KD Lang, her rendition of Hallelujah was amazing.

message 15: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Yes the opening ceremonies were amazing. KD Lang was so great, and she has such a strong voice

message 16: by Maya (new)

Maya Hunger Games and Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins is sooo good

message 17: by Elisa (new)

Elisa They are unbelievably good! And I'm so excited for the last one, and so sad about it being the final book at the same time.

Thanks! I looked for it and it was right in front of me all the time!! appreciate it

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads Glad I could be of help.

message 21: by Morgan (new)

Morgan F I have a question. What if we read more than a hundred books? That's the limit on adding to the list I believe.

message 22: by Buggy (new)

Buggy Hmmm Good question. Which never came to me because there is no chance I will read more than 100 books.
Does anyone have any ideas??

Let me think about it Morgan (you lucky speed-reader you)I'll get back to you.

message 23: by Elisa (new)

Elisa How about you start What We've Read So Far In 2010 II if it happens?

message 24: by Buggy (new)

Buggy Thats what I was thinking too Elisa. It would be a very specialised list and not entirely accurate but probably the only thing we could do. Unless of course I vote for your excess Morgan. I will probably only read 80-85 at the most this year (providing I don't get fired or something equally weird)

message 25: by Elisa (new)

Elisa Sounds like a plan.

message 26: by Buggy (new)

Buggy Morgan another option would be to delete any books you disliked. So it would be your 'TOP' 100 books read in 2010.
Let me know what you think.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads That sounds reasonable.

message 28: by Morgan (new)

Morgan F Both options sound good to me. I won't be at a hundred for a while, but it's a very real possibility.

I guess I can I just list my top picks of year. And I also won't add re-reads, so it will just be new books.

message 29: by Grada (BoekenTrol) (last edited Apr 03, 2010 01:29AM) (new)

Grada (BoekenTrol) I think this list is great! I ordered the books I read and voted for in order (the last one is the one I liked least).
If I ever get to a hunderd during this year, the ones with the higest numbers will be my least valued reads.

For both options (create a second list for those of us who read more than 100 books or delete the ones we like least) is something to say. Personally I favour the first option, because it is a list of books I READ during this year. If I want to vote for books I like or extremely dislike, I guess there are other lists, am I right?
Erasing books I disliked would further mean that I read them but do not list them here, and then the list's name is not correct anymore.

message 30: by Buggy (new)

Buggy Thanks Boekenwurm, I will create a second list whenever anyone gets to 100 books, Just let me know. I also agree with putting your books in order as you stated. Starting with your favourite as book 1 because unfortunately listing them in reading/read order doesn't give a fair listing spot for the book.
Glad you like the list, cheers

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

Fun list J Bug!

Starting with your favourite as book 1...

That's tough, though, cause I can't ever decide which book is my favorite, especially since I read in so many different genres... comparing apples and oranges kind of thing.

So I'm listing them in the order I read them, each time I finish a book it goes to position number 1. Maybe at the end of the year I will be able to re-arrange the list and put better liked ones at the top.

message 32: by Buggy (new)

Buggy Thanks Hayes, Yeah its tough to get an accurate listing spot for the books as the lower down your list the lower the points given. I understand though putting your apples and oranges in order is impossible (same prob here) I'm just looking at the number of votes given to each book not its list spot. Cheers

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

J Buggy, this is such a great idea for a list! I'm trying to reorder my votes by how much I liked each book, but as others have commented, it's pretty difficult. I also like the idea of creating a second list whenever anyone gets to 100 books.

message 34: by Buggy (last edited May 27, 2010 02:41PM) (new)

Buggy Book Pig, Thanks! I've also reordered my votes by how much I liked each book. That seems to work out better in the whole ratings thing. Whenever anyone reaches 100 books (lucky, lucky fast readers) just let me know, I'll start a new list. Cheers

message 35: by Sarah (new)

Sarah KELLY ARMSTRONG- WOMEN OF THE OTHER WORLD SERIES!!!!

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads The form to add books to the list is at the right-hand side of the page.

message 37: by Kevin (new)

Kevin yeah, a list without the twilight series in the top 5, P.S. GO HUNGER GAMES, :D

message 38: by Buggy (new)

Buggy LOL Kevin. Its refreshing for sure

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

There is a group for reading 100 books this year and you can add your books there as you read them. You can look at others lists too.

message 40: by Mandy Ricco (new)

Mandy Ricco i just realized there are sooooo many books I want to read.....

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads I think Jennifer's just hit the limit! You go, girl.

message 42: by Buggy (new)

Buggy Are we ready for a new list??? An over 100 in 2010 list??
Wow, you people that read fast are so lucky!! I just hit 50 and thought that was good, how awesome to be able to read twice as many.

message 44: by Cori Lee (new)

Cori Lee ily these books... absolutely love this site.... super to know that i'm not the only one out there that still reads... whats wrong with my generation? A MOVIE DOES NOT CONVEY THE SAME EMOTIONS AND TWISTS THAT A BOOK DOES sigh... ok mad rave over xoxox ily these books.. again :P

message 45: by Kadie (new)

Kadie Love this list been trying to read as many of the top books as I can

message 46: by Yessica (new)

Yessica read hush hush and fallen!!!!!

message 47: by Ally (new)

Ally Dang it! I can only vote for 100 books and I've read 112 so far this year!

message 48: by Alison (new)

Alison I like the books here.

message 49: by Audrey (new)

Audrey problem is, i've probably read over 500 this year, if you count rereads of books i've read in other years. D:

message 50: by Shannon (new)

Shannon of the Grave OH! I didn't think my list would gain so much popularity.
