How do you get inspired to write?

Jefferson Smith I'm a full-time writer, so I don't really think in terms of needing inspiration to motivate my writing. On the other hand, I'm a puzzle nut and to me, writing is a series of puzzles. How to create the most engaging experiences - the ones worth reading about - while remaining true to the characters, and to whatever plot lines have been established earlier in the book? So in that sense, each scene is its own inspiration, and its own reward.
