Hi Noreen,
When I was young I had a friend who had a sister with Downs. My friend used to tell me about her and she used to tell me about her. She was my inspiration for Millie, and when I wrote BCD, I was determined that she should be the real heroine of the story.
I also have a friend whose son has Downs.

My book club just finished reading Behind Closed Doors and we all loved it! I can't wait until our book club meeting to discuss it.
