Also, I am a writer and aspiring author. I hope to be querying my novel (YA Fantasy) in the summer. Do you have any tips on writing/querying? I would be so grateful! <3

Well, I think if you asked a dozen authors how the writing/querying process went for them, you'd get a dozen different answers. What's true for me might not be true for you, so I'd take my advice, or any advice, with a grain of salt. But in my experience, I would say don't worry too much about perfecting your pitch/query letter. Honestly, as long as your query is polite and professional, it really stands and falls by the quality of your book. So make your book as good as possible and just don't give up. The book publishing thing, even under the best circumstances, is a long process. Best of luck to you!

Hi Katherine, Loved the book! Whereas I also enjoyed Deathless, your descriptions of the many spirits made this aspect easier to follow. I also suggest the perfect musical composition that captures the spirit of The Bear and the Nightingale. It is Rimsky-Korsakov's Russian Easter Festival Overture. I can just see Vasya flying through the forest on Solovey when I listen to it. Have you heard it?

Currently reading The Girl in the Tower and loving it! I can really feel Vasya's pain and isolation in this one - she has no idea who she is but she knows she doesn't like her choices as a woman. So sad I have to wait until summer until the next book! How is the writing going? I desperately want Vasya to make some friends on the road (I hate her being so lonely!) - what can you tell us about book 3? Thanks!
