Sorry, I'm confused. Were you born in northern Utah, or are you living there now? Or, is it both, and you have been living there since you were born? Also, what are your kids' names, and were they part of the reason you became an author?

Jennifer A. Nielsen Born here and still live here. I don't publish my kids' names, but books have definitely always been part of our lives. I love the idea of creating stories they might enjoy.

In The Shadow Throne there is a good amount of battle. I think a lot of the attack strategies are very unique and original. How do you come up with new battle strategies when writing? Are they inspired by real attacks and real wars?

I have a book idea for you. I’m wondering if you could use it in a new book? So you should start with the character as a young boy who wants to learn to fight with a sword. I want there to be a little romance in it. But not too much to make it inappropriate. It would be cool if you could make it a little bit similar to the rangers apprentice book series.
