I cannot begin to tell you how much I'm loving your next release, "The Strange Case of the Alchemist's Daughter"!! I was lucky enough to get an ARC. All I can say is WOWZERS!! What a story!! My question is.. How long has this story been in the making?

Cherei, I'm so sorry not to have answered earlier--I just saw your question! I'm so glad you like the novel. (And yes, there will be a sequel!). I worked on The Strange Case of the Alchemist's Daughter for about two years, and then there was another year of editing with Saga Press. But a lot of the ideas come from research I did even earlier, while I was doing a graduate degree in English literature, reading all these books about monsters. So it's been a while in the making . . . :)

I'm absolutely inhaling The Strange Case of the Alchemist's Daughter and am thrilled to hear there will be a sequel! In the meantime, can you recommend any particularly enjoyable nonfiction works that you encountered in your doctoral research? (Best dissertation topic ever, in my opinion!)
