I had an existentialist crisis when I was in my twenties, a deep-seated quest to find meaning and depth, and I think it would make a great book, although a very different one to Chilbury. That said, there are elements of philosophy in The Chilbury Ladies' Choir that hark back to that stage in my life, especially some of Prim's thoughts about the world and how we fit in. What a fascinating question.

You are a blessing. I just finished The Chilbury Ladies' Choir and sent a dear English friend a copy also. I hated to see this book end. I feel as though every single character has taken up residence in my heart. I can't thank you enough for the way you presented the subject matter. That's awesome that the company responsible for Downton Abbey bought the rights for your book! I'm not sure about the actors....maybe Reese Witherspoon for the choir director, Ruth Gemmell for Mrs. Tilling (she was in Home Fires and Downton Abbey), Emma Watson as Venetia? Emma Stone as Hattie? Dakota or Elle Fanning as Kitty? This is a really hard question.
