Deborah Camp
Deborah Camp asked Roni Loren:

As a fellow author and a BIG fan of yours, I wonder if you write by outline or if you write by the seat of your pants? Your plots are very good and your dialogue sparkles. I love that you take time to let us get to know your characters a little before they fall into bed (or against a wall, on a desk, etc.)

Roni Loren Hi Deborah, Aww, thanks so much for the kind words! <3 I am a write by the seat of my pants writer with plot. But I do a lot of character pre-work. I have to know my characters really really well to write. So I have a stack of worksheets that I've put together from craft books I've read to develop my characters and their backstories. I do some general plot stuff because I have to give a proposal to my publisher before I write the book, but it's more like the back cover summary of a book and that leaves me a lot of wiggle room. Also, even after I've turned in that summary, it often changes completely and I have to let my editor know--oh, sorry, kind of changed the plot, lol.
