Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Jen Calonita I've always been asked if I would return to Whispering Pines, the camp I created in Sleepaway Girls, and time just got away from me! Five years later, I got the chance to return, but because it had been such a long stretch of time since the first book, I decided to age up my characters to senior counselors and bring in a new set of young characters to focus on. A little bit of the old, a bunch of the new. I really enjoyed writing Harper because she was so different from any character I've ever written. She starts out sweet, but shallow, and grows into an entirely new person over the course of the summer and I think that's what summer camp is all about. It gives you the chance to try a new persona on for size and see how it fits.
