What was your inspiration for I'll Meet You There?

Heather Demetrios The very first inspiration was that I wanted to write a book set in a crappy Motel on California's Highway 99, which I drove all the time as a kid. Skyler was there from the beginning, and so was Josh, but he wasn't a main character at first. Then I started thinking about my Dad, who is a Marine with PTSD and the suicide rate in the military and that started to become the heart of the story. But Sky using art as escape and hope is very autobiographical for me and that was important too. :)
