I know about the RGV because I lived in Edinburg for four plus years where I worked with nonprofit groups that help immigrants. My dad/grandparents are from El Paso/Juarez. I was born in the US but identify as Chicanx. I am in Houston now, but my wife is from Central America (and my first two children were born and raised there).
