How do you deal with writer’s block?

Ann Aguirre I don't really believe in it, per se. If I'm stuck, it usually means I've gone off course in the story, and if I can pinpoint where I messed up and fix it, the blockage usually resolves. But generally speaking, if you're just feeling creatively strangled, writing for pleasure or working on another project can help. It can also help to ask friends, family, or colleagues for help resolving a thorny plot problem. Or sometimes getting away for a bit, taking a shower or a walk, can shake a solution loose.
