Have you read much in Spanish? Any Allende or Borges? Are there any Spanish books you've read that you believe are even more essential than most to read in the original language, not in translation?

I'm sorry, Sorento, my Spanish is very poor. The only thing I've read which I'd unhesitatingly recommend is the Spanish edition of Satrapi's Persépolis. I hope I can find time to improve my command of this beautiful language.
