I cannot wait to read The Alice Network -- this period fascinates me. The book is getting such great reviews. How did you discover this story? I knew very little about this until I read reviews of your book.

Kate Quinn I first found the historic Alice Network by way of a wonderful non-fiction book by Kathryn J. Atwood called "Women Heroes of WWI." (Highly recommended.) It's a series of essays about a series of unsung heroines you have probably never heard of--I certainly hadn't--and all those ladies gob-smacked me. The story of the female spies in the Alice Network ended up grabbing my imagination the hardest and demanding to be told, but any of those ladies could helm her own fantastic novel!

Hi Kate! I've read both of your Empress of Rome series & Borgia Chronicles & loved them all! As far as my understanding goes...both the Roman & Borgia series are finished (tears). My question is, do you ever have trouble letting the characters go or are you happy to give them a friendly goodbye?
