What was your main inspiration behind the Incarnate series?

That's hard to say now. I don't remember where the original idea came from, since I wrote myself a note about it three years before I started working on the book. (I was writing other things in the meantime.) But when I did write the book, I kept that note in mind: everyone is perpetually reincarnated; only Ana is new.
