Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Chase Taylor Hackett I wanted to take somebody who flat out tells you he doesn't believe in love --- and bring him to the point of bawling his little eyes out about it. I had no idea if I could actually do that, but 261 pages later, ta-da!, I did and it's called WHERE DO I START?
With AND THE NEXT THING YOU KNOW..., I had a character who was a total asshole, and I wondered what would happen if he met someone with no patience for assholinity. Assholedness. Something like that. You pick.
I wasn't thinking it at the time, but looking back, both books would seem to be redemption stories. Not sure what that says about me as a person. Not sure I want to know either.
