Goodreads asked Mariam Parra:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Mariam Parra I start writing something else, but don't skip writing.

There was a day I had this particular scene in my mind. I had been thinking about it all day and really wanted to write it, but when I sat down to do so, I realized it didn't really fit any of the characters of my book. So instead I made up new characters on the spot and wrote the scene. I didn't stop to worry about the details, the important part was getting the scene out of my mind so I could go back to concentrating on the other story.

Other days I really don't have anything on my mind, so I use those days to work on edits or translations, but no matter what, I don't skip the times I set aside to write.
