Were tasers around when you started writing the Vorkosigan saga? Every time I hear about another shooting in a police interactions, I think of your stun now, ask questions later, and hope there's not heart condition thoughts of your characters. I wish there was more training and use of tasers.

I just looked up when tasers were invented; it says 1974. I thought it was later. In any case, my stunners owe more to long-time SFnal weapons like Star Trek's phasers (set to stun -- don't let your finger fumble!)
My characters, to their credit, do sometimes worry about hidden medical conditions in their targets. But we might posit that my stunners work on a different and slightly safer mode than tasers.

I've been seeing comments by other authors about fake, AI-written books being published on Amazon with their name attached. Is this something that you've seen or experienced? Have you given thought to trademarking your name to give you additional ammo against the e-book sites if someone does start trying to publish fake books under your name?
