I just finished "Before We Were Yours." Not only was I captivated by how you told this story, weaving in and out of time, but also bringing to life Georgia Tann. I wasn't familiar with the Tennessee Children's Home Society at all. Thank you for writing this. I have never given a book 5 stars but I loved it so much. Time for me to read some more of your books. Which book of yours should I read next?

Love it that you were so excited about Before We Were Yours! I suggest Dandelion Summer and the other three Blue Sky Hill books. The North Carolina novels (3) and three related novellas are good choices also. The three novellas are included in an anthology called Sisters. The novels are: The Prayer Box, The Story Keeper, The Sea Keeper's Daughters. And, many of my readers say to be sure to read Tending Roses, my first novel that is still going strong 15 years after publication. There are more, but that's a good start! Thanks for asking. Lisa
UPDATE: An audiobook is planned for Tending Roses. After so many reader requests for this over the years, I'm excited to reveal this.

Hi Lisa - I really enjoyed listening to this book on Audible. It is so sad this could actually happen to a family. It's horrible enough they're poor, but to rip them apart seems completely unreasonable. Not bad enough, some of them end up with horrific people at the Children's Home and are abused. Thank you for this absolutely well-written story. Do you know where your next book will take you?

Hi LIsa, I am a hobby genealogist who has assisted dozens of adoptees find families and found many cousins in my own family who were adopted out by way of DNA and genetic genealogy. This is basically the same method being used by police to solve crimes, etc. I am only a hobbyist, but would LOVE to volunteer my skills to help any survivors of TCHS and their families to hopefully determine and find their families?

Hi Lisa, I enjoyed reading your books "Before We Were Yours" and "The Book of Lost Friends". I am in a book club and I suggested to read "The Book of Lost Friends" and I enjoyed it very much. I was just wondering if you have any discussion questions for the book? We are meeting in a couple of weeks and I'm having a hard time finding questions for it. Thanks
