Ben returned home smiling; only to find his wife sitting in semi-darkness.
"What is it?" he asked, suddenly somber.
"The doctor found a lump in my breast. The biopsy is tomorrow."
The flowers fell from his hand. "I thought for sure you called to tell me you were pregnant."
"I am," she said. "Four weeks."
