Jacob M. Appel I don't have any pets at the moment (although I have written about blind rabbits and depressed hedgehogs and escaped penguins). I would like to adopt a giraffe, but the logistics are challenging -- especially in my small New York City apparent with low ceilings. I do have a close friend with a pet emu (this is not a joke, although it may sound like one), which is one of the most fascinating and beautiful creatures you'll ever meet, and I cannot tell you how inspiring I find the bird.

How current is your profile picture? Is it like the dating sites where you're really 60+ yo., & put up an old photo to fool women? You look way too young to have so many degrees & so many published books. Love your sense of humor by the way!
