Hey Kendare, can you tell me what your inspiration was for Three Dark Crowns? Also is Low Magic based on anything? And how did you come up with the goddess lore?

Three Dark Crowns was inspired by this ball of bees I saw and was terrified by. Luckily and weirdly, there was a beekeeper near, who told me all sorts of things about bees, like that a queen will lay several queen eggs and when they hatch the baby queens will murder each other.
Low magic is influenced a little bit by Wicca, but not that much. And the Goddess lore was just there when I got to the island. It revealed itself to me, and is still revealing itself as the stories progress.

Firstly I just want to say thank you. Your books have been a beacon in the dark of my writers block, always encouraging me that there is a story somewhere. When i read your booka, i am consumed by your stories and characters. My question is, where did the story for Anna Dressed In Blood come from?

Hi Kendare! I just wanted to say that I love your books, especially Antigoddess. But as a finn, I must ask, where did you get the idea of Anna being Finnish? It was funny to read Anna #1, where the phrase "Anna taloni" does not actually mean "Anna's house" but rather "Anna, my house" or "Give me my house" :') We are flattered.
