Hello! Is it important to read The Riyria Chronicles or can I just skip that and read The Riyria Revelations? Thanks!

You can ABSOLUTELY read Revelations without Chronicles. It was the first series I wrote with the pair and when I finished it, I didn't expect there would be any other Riyria books. The Chronicles only came into being because people wanted more time with the main protagonists of the Revelations.
In general, I recommend people read in "order of publication" - which would mean starting with Theft of Swords. So, yeah, skip Chronicles and start with Revelations...and if when you get done with it you are itching for more time with Riyria - THEN you can go read the Chronicle tales.
