I really enjoyed Behind Closed Doors!! I loved all the twist and turns. Looking forward to reading the next book by you. I know Jack's childhood was explained, I wish there was more detail. He truly has so much more going on. Also, I wished there was more detail about his visits to Thailand. Such as were there indeed any victims there or was there an accomplice? What lead Esther to believe that something was wrong

(view spoiler)[Hi Doreen, I'm glad you enjoyed Behind Closed Doors. I didn't go into too much detail about what Jack got up to in Thailand as it wouldn't have made very pleasant reading and I think we can use our imagination. What we do know, because he tells us, is that his role there was one of 'an observer' and that he 'didn't get his hands dirty.'
Esther guessed that something was wrong because Jack made a mistake over the colour of the room he was preparing for Millie.
I hope I've answered your questions! (hide spoiler)]

I found "Behind Closed Doors" while searching for something to distract my mind. And I found one of the most amazing books I've read, couldn't put it down, found myself talking about it to EVERYONE and even thinking about what could happen next in the story. I have to say, it was scary, chilling & tricky but I loved every minute of it. How do you process or create a story with so many details unattended? You're great!

Hi, thank you for taking the time to read my question! I have never read your book before, but look forward to in the near future, since I do think it's a little too mature for me, being a teen. I did want to ask, since I enjoy writing thrillers myself, how do you create that poignant, raw, hauntingly beautiful effect in a book? How do you put that level of emotion into words, easy for the readers to comprehend?
