I was wondering if you have any characters or places from stories that you threw out or gave up on that I can use for a story idea I had. The story idea is that there's this island where all given up on thrown out story pieces, characters, objects, places, etc. end up. I've asked other authors so that I can get a variety and some truth in my story. ? ~Hannah

Hi Hannah, Yes, I have characters and story pieces always in mind who might not have fit into a current project, but who I know I want to write one day. I might keep them around for when I'm read for them, but I think your idea is really cool. So here is one object I don't expect to use:
* A mirror that allows you to go back in the past by as far as you can see into it. In a small space, that may only be a second or two, but in a wide open space, it might be twenty minutes or more.
Good luck!

Jennifer A. Nielsen:
Mrs. Nielsen, I'm an aspiring writer. I'm simultaneously writing a romantic comedy and a psychological horror-mystery. I'm working on the latter first. I already started to write the first five chapters and it's going well. But how do I organize the tone story-wise so it doesn't feel like it's all over the place? Not to mention, I'm 14 years old- going onto 15- so is it even possible for me to publish my novel now?

Hi Jennifer! I am in LOVE with all your books, especially the ones that go back in ancient or medieval times. Your writing is the BEST!! You wrap me on the edge of each chapter, making me put the book down only when I've finished the whole series! I hope to be an amazing writer like you someday! No other books compare to yours. What were your struggles in writing your first books?
