Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Michael Easterling While working as a music therapist at Shriner’s Hospital, where children come from all over the world, I had a collection of international folktales. One was a three page story from Peru about a young girl who saved the heir to the Empire. I wondered what the real story was and how it could be told. I decided to take out the magical, fairytale elements and tell the story just as realistically as I could. The result is “The Water at the End of the World.”
