Some book recommendations for you:
Red Sister by Mark Lawrence - just finished this and it's truly magnificent. Assassin-Nuns training academy.
The Red Knight by Miles Cameron. Again, utterly brilliant. Medieval Knights meet wyverns, bogglins and talking bears.
Traitors Blade by Sebastien de Castell. Three Musketeers-inspired swashbuckling fantasy. Wonderful stuff.
The Sword in the Storm by David Gemmell. Celtic/Roman inspired fantasy by the late master.
The Winter King by Bernard Cornwell. My favourite take on King Arthur.
All of the above are book 1 of a series - I hope this small list helps. :)
Also, A Time of Dread is out now :)
