Where do you get your inspirations for your books? What or who gives you the storylines?

Lee Savino A lot of it has to do with the character. Usually I get a scene in my head and start to think of why it might happen. Then I watch the characters closely to see what they do and what sort of people they are. The characters tend to give me the story.

Sounds crazy, I know. I promise I don't hear voices in my head--I just "see' the characters very vividly, and record what they do and say.

In the Draekon series, the Zorahn society is described as extremely hierarchical and clan/family based. It seems to have similarities with the old Confucian society, or perhaps ancient Egypt. Where did you get inspiration to write about that type of society and structure?
